At Farnsworth, we work closely with homeowners and architects to carry the design intent through every stage of construction, with careful attention to materials, proportions, and finish details.
Our process begins with a thorough review of the drawings, coordination of the trades, and anticipation of challenges before construction starts. Clear planning and timely decisions help us meet project milestones, maintain quality, and keep the work moving on schedule.
Since 2010, Farnsworth has built custom homes and completed substantial renovations in Pacific Palisades, Malibu, Brentwood, Bel Air, Santa Monica, and Culver City.
Each project is supported by a dedicated project manager and an on-site superintendent overseeing daily work. Homeowners, architects, and our team share one project management platform, with direct access to schedules, decisions, and open items throughout construction.
From initial planning through the final details, our focus is consistent: clear communication, disciplined scheduling, and craftsmanship that reflects the care behind the design.

Collaboration
Our work style is supportive and collaborative. Throughout the entire project, we work closely with the design team to ensure every nuance of the original plan is executed perfectly.
Project Timeline
Our itemized timeline reports keep you informed at each phase of the project life cycle, and are extremely useful to gauge progress at a glance. You, your architect, your project manager and your site superintendent all work from the same project management software, so the schedule, decisions and open items are visible to everyone at any time.
Dedicated Project Management
Every project is run by a dedicated project manager and an on-site superintendent. Your project manager owns the schedule, the budget and the communication; your superintendent is on site daily, keeping the trades moving and the work to standard. They coordinate onsite meetings with the architect, client and subcontractors, and every detail is scrutinized at all phases of construction, beginning with the bid phase, to assure a smooth and efficient custom home build.
Permits Process
Our extensive experience in obtaining city permits and inspection approvals keeps things running smooth, on time and on budget.
Schedule & Budget Oversight
Your project manager continuously monitors timelines and budgets, efficiently schedules subs and vendors, and maintains communication with the architect and client. We like to think of that role as the project’s concierge.
Weekly Updates
We keep you informed with weekly onsite meetings. You’ll meet with your project manager and site superintendent, along with subcontractors when appropriate. We’ll answer any questions and keep you informed throughout the life of the project.
Weekly Audits
The Farnsworth Team will send a weekly status report to both the client and architect, along with an audit of the production schedule. With our updates, you’ll be notified of any items that need attention and our recommendation toward a solution.
Day-To-Day Workflow
Your project manager and site superintendent keep jobs on track and on schedule. Daily proactive communication with our subs alleviates unnecessary delays and keeps things moving efficiently. If our subs need support, we have our own in-house crews with the capabilities of each trade, to keep progress timely.
Final Walk-Through
Our final walk-thru is thorough and meticulous. We provide a checklist of items to be reviewed to help make sure everything is working properly, trim and finishes are carefully inspected. Any areas that require touch-ups or attention are added to a ‘punch list’ and are corrected before the move-in date.
